Hi guys, I've settled for a GME 3200 radio. [previous post] ended up a battle between GME and Uniden.
Starting to notice patterns, eg Nissan/toyota, GME/Uniden, Waeco/Engel, etc.
My question now: Garmin/Magellan?

Im no techno wizzard, but I assume that the idea of a gps is to give me a satelite generated position which I can then plot on a map. Reading up on heaps of posts has given me the impression that either Garmin or Magellan are the pick of the crop. Before asking you much respected and learned members your opinions, I must let it be known: A laptop is something loose women sit on, software is something to do with bedding, up/down loading is either lifting or removing gear on or off the back of the 4by.
The only moving map I have is the one that slides across the dashboard and onto the floor. hehehe!
I dont see myself using a gps to find the local deli or Shire office but would like it to give me a positon when Im in WoopWoop and the only thing I can see over 360 degs is desert.

I dont want my office desk in the car.
My research starts here and your ideas and comments would be gladly recieved.

Cheers...........Lionel.
