quote...
" Just having a BBQ with a good mate who works in DSE here in
Melbourne.
He was saying that to keep the greenies happy in Parliment they are considering a complete ban of Bikes in
state forest and national parks throughout Victoria. He reckons there will be 12 months of consulatation then whammo, no more access.
All this started with the banning of high country grazing and I guess we are the next logical step in the "greening" process to ban. I'll be writing my local memeber a letter as
well. I 'spect the motorcyle associations/tour groups etc will come out a statement to assit individuals to take action.
one would hope that being the case they ban all 4wd at the same time to be fair to the greenies but i wont hold my breath.
I'd be lobbying the 4w motor organisatins as
well as they'll surely follow the bikes.
what i do expect might happen is rec reg might get knocked on the head perhaps?? which would be kinda stupid as it'd remove the insurance component, something nsw would do
well to follow" ...unquote.
Starting with the bikes then the 4wd's and then the other states follow suit i supose to stay in the good books with the greenies and do-gooders.

if you saw how the idiots on bikes and 4wd behave it is for sure they will get banned. You need to support the bans to stop the country been stuffed for good.
fools with mud tyres churn up wet tracks and then go off the tracks and wreck the environment.
the sooner they ban bikes and 4wd from going off the tracks the better.

I think we should ban all donations to charitable institutions because I heard somewhere once from a friend of a friend that once some of the money was misused.

Funny thing, bikes and 4wd's are already banned from leaving formed tracks in both
State Forest's and National Parks.

Hi Govo
If the Idiot's were serious why not ban the $400 Million Dollars worth of Illegal Rainforest Timber sent to Australia Every Year.
Just like the Plastic Shopping Bags Entertain The Brain Dead's that is all they do and do nothing in real term's.
Regard's

This may be stemming from issues where large numbers of motor bikes both legal & unregisted in outer
Melbourne parks (particually Powelltown) are causing extensive damage on both tracks & short cuts through the bush. Also the regular noise of large groups is pushing local property owners to complain as
well. With the explosion of cheap imported bikes & the better riding area's being promoted in magazines & forums it's no wonders the overuse of some parks will lead to local closures.
Although the greeny's may talk about it, I believe a total ban accross Vic to be extremely unlikey, even impossible. What you may need to get used to is Parks closing even more individual tracks that are damaged from overuse & abuse. The days of tearing up the tracks, circlework in the
campsite & making new tracks through the scrub without a closure of that area are fast dissapearing.
Look after the Parks or loose the access!
Cheers Craig.............

This is a follow up quote from the same guy who put up the original post on that site,
" bleep ,
Sorry guys, I think I've just been had. My mate, who I wouldn't thought capabable of pulling an April Fools joke, does work quite high up in DSE. He doesn't have a bike but as
mine are quite visible in the shed he probably thought to pull a quick one on me. The conversation did go for quite a while though.
I just can't imagine him doing this to me......"
Most figured his mate was pullin his middle one, seems they were right.
