Spoke to the
ranger at
birdsville today.
He said the bypass track for eyre creek is only about a foot deep and going down.
Also most of
the desert claypans are dry.
As expected the dunes have fresh sand drifts about 1m deep ontop
The
rig road is actually quite boggy from very dry powdery sand.
Anyone else heading out this
easter, will be in
Birdsville on Saturday

Thanks for this ric.
I see you were looking at PostID: 43601. Allan JJ was heading there at
Easter I think.
The DTEI website is still indicating the Cordillo route is closed. Their website map (and RACQ website) now indicate Planet Downs route also closed though. So at present
Birdsville track only one open to South (towards
Adelaide), on east side of Simpson.
Anyway, enjoy and let us know how you get on. Regards JD
