I was wondering if any had first hand experience using the Uniden UH015SX Remote Head UHF CB Radio. I have had a number of Unidens over the years and am very happy to stick with the brand but l would be interested if any has this model and can give me some feedback/comment. I gather from the material l have read that the radio can be fitted as a combined unit, that is the face attached to the main body of the radio as opposed to a remote head set up.
Thanks

works fine for me.
I have the main body mounted on a bracket under the hood lining, and the head unit mounted on another bracket outside the hood lining (like as if I had a console in the middle, which I don't). The speaker on the main unit even works
well through the hood lining so I didn't need an external speaker.
I have never had any problems with it at all.

I have an 013, remote head, radio and its great.
But as with all UHF's they are useless if you have a pooor aerial, or a poor ground plane
Cheers

Most high gain - high performance antennas are DC Grounded and do not need tuning
DC Grounded means the antenna has what is known as a LC Network, Tuning stub or similar method for matching the antenna in order for it to work on the frequency required, what this means is that if you were to measure the connection at the base of the antenna with a ohm meter it would read a DC dead short (DC Grounded) - This is normal and is a common way of designing antennas. DC Grounded antennas do not need a ground plane or earth as in the case of monopole antennas.
