Just received a flyer from JB Hi Fi which has a Soniq GPS with moving map display touchscreen for $249 after a $299 cashback offer. May be of interest to some?

But you did not say how you meet the vehicle! booged, stuck or tourists...........

Regards Richard

Heard a rumour that if you find a 4x4 booged you offer to pull it out over a beer......but if it is a softroader then its a brewery.......its just a rumour i heard.

Mike, AFAIK Destinator 6 is more useful for finding the shopping centre than for finding gold, ghosts or goats :)

No idea Jim - it was simply on a flyer in my letterbox but... if it can't find a decent goat, well....

I wonder if it works as well as the Aldi one that is now available again for $349....The (Aldi) had a walker ( zimmer frame) on special for $149 which I am now the proud owner of one, great when I'm being shoe shopped with Sybil. Just you understand till I get new Uni Joints in my drive shafts...

So the cheapies are gradually making their way into the market.

How long before someone sets off an EPIRB because their GPS failed? Of course it won't be anyone from this site, but it will happen.

Of course none of our GPS's will work in times of stress in the US. They'll turn Selective Availability back on in a more complex form before you can say "Hang on I'm just trying to get a satellite".

I remember when the US turned SA off for a few hours in the mid-nineties when they were having a few dramas with Cuba I think. I was getting sub-meter accuracy on a GPS I normally would get only accuracy within 50 meters.

Map, compass, scale ruler and GPS - Essential Outback items. Lol. - oh and a lead pencil :)

Looking for adventure.
In whatever comes our way.
