HI All
I'm putting up a (beer, I'm a brewer)) cool room in the shed and need some advise on procedure.I know some one has the knowledge.I've been told you set up the floor panels with the Ali angle set up square and then stand a corner of the walls up then go diagonal and set this up.So do I put the roof in last or put up three sides then put the front on. Any advise will get you free beer in
Perth!
Thanks

You should be able to get the wall sheets rebated for the roof sheets to fit into.
I would put all the walls up first (don't forget the door), plumb the walls up and brace with the roof sheets.

The cool room is a pulled down second hand job.The roof sheets are rebated to fit into the side walls. My main concern is if i put the walls up first and add the corner Ali supports (pop rivited in place) I wont get the roof to drop into place! Which means undoing the corner ali angles again. Im very much the novice at this.
I dont want to spend all
easter doing the job twice.Get it right first is my idea. Thanks for your input.

Don't pop rivit all the Ali supports, Just do the ones at the bottom to begin with.
Put the roof on then complete the fixing of the ali supports. Don't forget to uses a silicone sealant or similar on all the joins to prevent the cold air from escaping from the gaps behind the Ali supports.
Cheers Kev

Yeah they want $35.00 per hour.I would rather do the job my self! I have friends that would work out a LOT cheaper! With the BOOM in WA every body wants to make a killing.Unfortunatley. Us with normal job just suffer.Looks like give it a go and learn from experience.

Its hard to picture...but if you saying you external upright angles interfear with the roof but need them there to hold the walls up????
Can you put the internal ones on first?
or
Put the external ones on but dont fix them all the way up ( start at the bottom and work up about half way)
??????
Cheers

Yep hard to explain but yes i need the external corner Ali angle to hold up the walls while constructing. No they wont interfere with the roof being put in.For safety reasons I would like to tie the externals in first.Squashed mates dont come back !I like the idea of fixing the external corners only half way up.Gives me room to move sides to get the roof into rebate if need be.I AGREE THIS IS THE WAY TO GO. Free beer for you at my place.

Nifty,
Not sure if it is such a problem with domestic coolrooms, but many commercial coolroms and freezers have heating trays beneath them.
As most sit dirctly on the concrete slab, (and are never turned off) they slowly cool the slab and the dirt below it. Over time, ice forms under the slab, which expands and cracks the slab, letting in moisture. Then before you know, you have concrete cancer.
Maybe raise the floor of the coolroom off the ground slightly, so you get air movement between the cool room and the floor. Or turn it off every few months for a week or so.
R.
