dont forget you will have to get a licence to fish by then, maybe, we are not happy campers up here i can tell you never needed to have one b4, greedy old northern land council. you must stay at the campgrounds near roper store hey? sometimes the water is a bit cold in july so if the lures arent working catch some cherabin or little perch and use as live bait, im sure you know that anyway.

It was great living in the Top End in the 70's and 80's when the population was still small but as more people streamed to the Territory and large parcels of land got divided in to smaller blocks, the smoke from dry season burnoffs got to me and made the area unattractive. So we pulled up stumps in 1992 and started migrating southward.

But as you say, on the good days, by a river or creek, in idyllic weather conditions, life can be good in the Top End!

Cheers

Hi Hiad,

We are 10 minutes from Woolworths and less to the fishermans co-op. Airconditioned hunting spot, no mossies and no fear of docojiles. The Barra comes in fresh daily. No licence needed and no quota or bag limits.

Only winding you from a Southern cousin, But I agree with some of the other posts. Enjoy NT whilst you still can.

SKI'er
