I have been without a 4x4 for nearly year now and am starting the looking process for another one. This question is to diesel Terracan owners. Have you found them to be reliable and acceptable performers?
I don't go
places that push the limits of off roading. I'm looking for a vehicle that will get through sand and handle the corrugations of dirt roads while pulling a CT, plus be reasonably manoeuvrable in the city. Not a big ask I know, but some praise mixed with some problems will give me things to look for and questions to ask.
Thanks in advance
Paul

Check out the Hyundai User Group link you'll find the users to be friendly and very knowledgeable on Terracans and most other things. Good luck

If you are looking at getting a Terracan , get in quick before they are all gone !!!!
Reliable, yes !! Especially the motors, haven't heard of a prob yet with a diesel motor !!
Peformance ?? As good as or nearly as good as all the latest crdi motors.....
Suspension ?? Get some aftermarket to fix the factory stuff !!
Not as good overall as say the latest crdi Prado, but , with the ability to also buy a Hyundai Elantra for the same price, you be the judge ???

Paul,
My Jerry Can is nearly three years old (petrol, as the diesel wasn't available then) and is faultless.
The diesel is quite superb and will do all you are asking and more.
As suggested above have a look at our
forum
www.terracan.australiawd.com
It is in my opinion, the best value 4wd on the market, perhaps with the exception of the Kia Sorento.
ATB,
Jim.
