100 series intermittent fault with speedo

Hi everyone.
A mate has a 100 series V8 which has a crook speedo.
Works ok on first daily use, then on subsequent startups the dash gauges are delayed in coming on and thats when the speedo fails.
Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

Check under the vehicle where the wire plugs in to the gearbox wire (i think, been a while). Bumped mine in the
VIC High Country. Easy to fix once i found the loose wire.
