Hi first post but here goes,
I have heard of a track called caves to caves here in NSW. I have heard this can be done over a weekend. Has anyone heard of this. If so what are your thoughts recommendations??

I am guessing you are talking about Jenolan Caves ot Wombeyan Caves. The run is down the western side of the range. You can camp at Yeranderie, an old silver mining town on hte banks of Lake Burrogorang, or in a few other places along the way.

It is a pretty run, not too taxing and can easily be done in a weekend but a long weekend would be better.

As said above a 3 day weekend would be great, we did this trek over 4 though. Great 4wding & top scenery.Started at the Jenolan end and went in that way.

email your address to okane at internode dot on dot net and I'll post them out to you.

The report is in the gold label edition 4WD disscover NSW. I got it a sd a freebie when i bought the mag a couple of months ago. It's proved very handy as I'm off to NSW next week in the SA school hols.

There is book called "4wd treks close to Sydney" which features info on Caves to Caves. Worth having a look.

cheers.

There is now an issue with access through the Dingo Dell section of the Caves to Caves trip. There was a post here a few months ago with details, so a search may be handy. Apparently a private landowner has 'closed off' a section of the track, and is very adamant about restricting access.
It's a very good trip, and if you start from the southern end- Yerranderie is an ideal overnight camp.
