spot lights 80 series

got given a set of 6in spot lights for my 1992 80 series seems toyota never made a wireing loom for extra lights, do the high beam lights all ready have a resistor fitted is this big enough to carry the extra load or do i need 2 more thanks mal b

Hi Mal i think you mean relay not resistor
You will need to run a new relay and connect the supply to the battery
and activate the the relay via a switch connected from the high beam circuit.
may be some one will post a diagram or a link to one.they are not to hard to connect up.

Hi guys - this is a first time for me.
I tried to wire up a new set of
driving lights last night but I have a problem.
My
driving lights come on with low beam not high beam.
I guess I have used the wrong headlight wire but I only used the one that goes into the back of the high beam lamp so I cant see why it wont work.
Any ideas??

Hi what i use is a 12 volt
test pen probe only a few dollars at an auto
shop.
Remove the cover around the steering colum and pick up the high beam wire from the control stalk at the conection plug.just flick the switch on and of till you locate the wire and then tap in to it ,then run a wire to a toggle swith mounted it in the dash and then run a wire from that to a relay in the engine bay for the
driving lights.
