G'day,
Go for it!!!
Mine is a late '02, gives me 12.5L/100Km, no problems whatsoever.

They are the last of the live front axle.

Yep good vehicle, I personally didnt like the bench style seats, to uncomfortable but that was only for a day in a hire vehicle. We have a GXL 105 and are very happy with it.Mind you I can only get around 13.5-14l/100kms up to 16 towing.
For a poverty pack 3 yrs old I wouldnt go above $25000.

They are slow but as long as that is not an issue for you then they are a great car. Mine is a 2001 model. The barn doors are great for easy access to the back of the boot area. Fuel consumption about 12lts or so per 100km. No electronics whatsoever so should be quite reliable.
Choose your model at the auctions wisely, some have been abused and tarted up for the sale.

Paulav

Mine is a 2000 model that I bought with 70k on it in 2002. Great vehicle. In my experience, other comments above are relevant. Have just done 200k service myself. Very easy to work on. Reliable, simple, and in many respects still like new. I think if I had the choice of the 100 series range, I'd choose the poverty pack.

I sometimes think that a turbo would be good - and then I give myself an uppercut and enjoy what I have!

regards

Spliney
