Gday - looking to trade in the 2002 GU, 145K - probably for 04-05 TD troopy R/V (very rare must be collectable). Any stories on current trade in prices for Patrols? Redbook website has some info - quite a defference in what dealers are charging for troop carriers and the red book price.

I recently asked about private selling v trade in, got plenty of responses, but i can't find my thread now. However bear in mind, that a trade is price is relative to the asking price of the vehicle, and may be higher at a certain dealer, because they have loaded the extra into their profit margin on the vehicle you are purchasing. Doggy Tease did share his trade in price with me off-forum and he may be willing to do the same for you.

My guess is that, via a dealer, you'll get $20k as a trade and you'll be paying $43-47k for an 04RV TD Troopie thats in good nick. Some of these troopies will have seen the beach (some National Parks vehicles) or been trashed and not serviced in the deserts. So just keep an eye out for signs of corrosion which should not be present on a 2 year old vehicle, or radiator loaded with spinfex.
