A few of us are travelling to
the Rock & Kings Canyon in July via Coopers Crk &
Strzelecki track, old Ghan Route. 4WDs and campers. Any advice on
places we should see or avoid would be appreciated.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you Hickson but I 'm guessing if your going coopers ck and strez trk your going near
Innamincka. Great old outback pub but be careful which campground you pick around the town as they range greatly in price. Definitely worth the drive out to Burke & Wills dig tree. We found the whole story surrounding it fascinating. Happy travels.

How much time do you have?
A rushed trip you can do your trip in 4 to 5 weeks.
You could spend 1 to 2 weeks just getting out to
Innamincka, and another week around Inamincka and down the Strezlecki to
Lyndhurst.
Do you want to concentrate on the area around Alice?
Allow 2 weeks for a quick tour of the west of Alice, and forget the east of Alice?

Hickson, when leaving
Toowoomba, head directly west, avoid EQ District Office at all costs. Have a great trip.

Hickson,
How did you go thinking the trip through?
Got any further?
Done a search of treks on this site?
Where do you want to concentrate your time?
Might be able to give you a few
places I like then.
