G'day travellers,
Hope someone can help us with suggestions for a
camping ground on KI. Have a small tinny so keen to be somewhere we can launch it and some showers would be good as we're staying for a week. We are self sufficient with lighting/fridges etc so dont need power. Would prefer to be around
Kingscote side of the island as we assume it would be more protected. Thanks for any advice.
Regards
Wes

Hi, you have few choices:
American River: small
camping grouund near the
water edge/
boat ramp with small but new toilet/showers ...
Stokes Bay: good campinground but very small
toilet. No showers! But very nice place, specially
the beach!
Kingscote: not sure but the
camping is now in Bronlow.
On the south coast ....
Vivonne Bay: very beautifull beach/bay. The
camping is not too far from
the beach. Please NO
CAMPING on the
water's edges ner the bay!!!
Flinder's chase Nat.
Park has a fantastic campingound with fantastic
toilet and showers but is not near the
water edge!

If you have a tinnie
Vivonne bay is excellent, weather permitting. Stokes is more sheltered and also hase some good fishing.
