Was the water pump working? If you couldn't hear the water pump running then there isn't any water being forced through the system and the unit will turn off the gas and shut it down........I think there is a flow switch for this?

How was the water pressure? If there is insufficient pressure out of the pump it will shut down? This is the problem I have at the moment, the water pump isn't pumping the water through enough and is shutting the system down.....

Teabag,

There was a batch with a faulty thermostat (thingy).

We had the same problem as you, took it back to the retailer who replaced it no questions asked.

Pajman Pete,

Doubt they will do it under warranty due to being 18months old? Mine seems to be water pump pressure or lack of......

Mine was 15 months old and there was no problem. It is worth asking the question.

I found especially if its brand new that the water hose can bend (crease) a little and thats all it takes for the bugger not to work...I may change the hose to something more suitalble..

Yep and if you look at the specs (same as in Kmart) it only heats up to 20 degrees over the supply water eg. 2 degree getting sucked out of river will only heat to 22c thats a bloody cold shower in winter let me tell you.Get the coleman or primus cant go wrong. I have the primus bit more mucking around than the colman (seperate gas bottle, cant run on butane and doesnt get as hot as the coleman as far as having a coffee direct from the outlet but great for showers more than hot enough) but also the primus has no electronics works a treat.
