Have recently been scanning my photo slides dating back a long way. Saw some photos of me when I was a lot younger and started to wonder what I looked like today, without a beard.

I grew my beard in 1979 and only shaved it off once in 1984 to pacify my mother.

So today, 23 years later, I shaved it off. It was around 20cm long and getting a tad unruly. I started to trim it but then decided 'What the Hell' !

For those who know me with a beard......Surprise!!!!!!!!

I think I'll start growing it again...........................................

Cheers

Willem,

Worst thing about that, if you are going to keep it off, is the daily shaving ritual.

I did the4 same a few years ago and shock, horror, I found I had no chin. At least it looked that way.

Funny thing though I left my Mo on and many people didn't say words to the effect that I'd shaved the beard off, rather a common response was "You've grown a Mo".

Gday
I had a shave after twenty years of beard wearing and was asked if i had had a hair cut !!
My young son would not come near me as he didn't know the stranger in bed with his mum.

With the FLinders being your backyard you would hardly think you'd need to wait until the end of the month - after all, I'll have rather a longer way to come, and am likely to be pretty busy - 21 days in the Kimberley departing Broome 30th April.

Perhaps we can do it a little earlier in the month?

Cheers

Had mine about the same, since 1970.
Shaved it off once about 5 years ago to help a charity. First time my 20+ boys and wife had seen me without a beard. Wife and boys said grow it back straight away.

Worst part was cleaning my teeth in the morning. This stranger was 1/2 metre away staring at me when I was half awake. You would look up and get a shock. Scary things, mirrors.

What is the point of all of this, Paul?

You set out to annoy me and I respond calling you whatever. I am predictable. Would like to call you more slanderous names but the forum etiquette does not allow that.

So you don't like me and I dislike you. So what! I mean to go and drag something up from years ago shows that you must live with these things. You must have your own archive of what is said by me on this forum so that you may yap yap at my heels like a cheeky Jack Russel dog at any given time.

Give it a rest, mate. There is no sense to this.
