hi all
looking to finally mount a pvc pipe on my roofrack(arb steel to suit 100 series) to be able to put poles for a tarp inside and have seen brackets that could potentially bolt to rack where the pipe fits in.
i think it will most likely be 90mm piping.
does anyone know where to purchase such a bracket?
i have used big hose clamps on a earlier model but was looking for possible alternatives.
any suggestions greatly appreciated.
i live in
melbourne
cheers fozzy

Fzzy,
ARB sell them as a stock item. I have 100mm ARB Polly brackets fitted to my rack!

Hard to beat the hose clamp mate, cost effective, light, strong & reliable.
Having said that,
I have a flat steel rod inside the length of the tube and the same size rod along the inside of my basket with bolts between so as to "sandwich the tube wall" to the basket and spreading the load over a greater length of the tube plus stopping the tube from bowing. It still has two hose clamps for added security, to be sure to be sure. No Cape corrigation is getting my fishing rod and poles.
Colin.

I got
mine from
http://www.roofrackcity.com.au/. made up some clamping plates so i didn't have to drill into the rack and then bolted the PVC brackets to them. Works a treat.

I should also add that RRC had the choice between the steel strap style ones and also the aluminium ones (i went for these as they seemed more sturdy).
So far so good. Can email photos if you like.

You can get brackets like this from any hardware store. You just need to look at fittings to put them on the rack. A lot of racks have custom mounts for doing this for some extra $'s

Hi - I used the standard brackets that are produced to secure the pipes to walls and such. They are as cheap as chips but you will have to 'modify' them a little with a couple of pairs of multigrips in order to get them to fit round your roofrack bars. I have a 'basket' fitted to two Rhino bars and I bent and shaped the brackets so that they are able to be be bolted up round the bars of the basket.
This may not be an adequate description - if you give me your email address I'll send you a couple of pics - alternatively I'll get the proper name of the brackets.
You will see them for sale in the same area as the pvc piping in your hardware store.
Happy days
Geo
