a play with words, i was checking
places out along
the beach in SA last weekend for future van spots when i came across a caravan park ( a council run park) with a
sign out the front that said caravan and camping park. Now to my way of thinking, when in this council area where signs say no camping,it would still be legal to pull up in the van and stay the night. what do you think?

Well good luck!
One time I tried splitting hairs in a "State Forest" on Blackdown Tableland. The NP
camp ground was full up and our guide book said that you can
camp anywhere in a
State Forest.
When i told the
Ranger he simply said that the book was wrong. Would I please write to National parks in
Brisbane and tell them?
However he got on the two way and found there was a cancellation at the
camp ground so we got a site anyway. Probably wouldn't have if I'd pursued the argument about what the directory says!
Max
ps never wrote to National Parks - figured i knew what would happen to the letter.

If the
sign indicates No Camping I guess that's just what it means. Prett plain and clear to me. Why not
camp there and see if/how the Council reacts !

Ok. Extra tired driver who can not drive any further. No money for camping fees so sets up
camp in a supposed no
camping area. Whats the story??? Continue driving and kill others on the road???????????? Surely common sense prevails????

i think you missed my point, if the council distinguishes between camping and caravaning at there caravan park then the
sign saying no camping should not apply to caravans.

That would be an interesting argument to witness chips. "I'm not camping Mr council man, I'm caravaning" No doubt you'd get the same responce no matter what. "Move on or I'll get you towed" :-))
Cheers Craig.......
