We are leaving from Adelaide and should be around Cairns on 4th June...
We are going to take a week or so to get to the tip from Cairns...
We did Cape York last year so we have a head start on the good camp sites i hope...
Then across the Gulf...

It's all good :)) Avoid the French track into Chilli if towing, the crossing can be a handfull. Don't speed, watch out for traffic where you're sure there's none, and have a ball :))

Alex & Rhonda. Have a read of Ron Moons Cape York book. Heaps more advice, tips etc...... than I could possibly fit in this response.
Places worth a look off the beaten track....... Shelbourne dunes, Radar tower & plane wrecks out of Bamaga, Horn Island, South Pera heads, Bathurst Bay, Vrilia Point.
Warnings: Observe grog restrictions & don't overload your trailer.
The Cape is rarely a difficult drive these days in July, just a long rough track. Follow the dust you can't get lost ;-)
Cheers Craig.......

Don't skip Chilli Beach. If short of time skip Capt. Billy's. River crossing could be a challenge with a trailer but is the way I'd go as it's a very scenic drive.
