Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge on this model ? I am looking at maybe purchasing the new 2.8 diesel with auto, but would like peoples
views as I have never owned a Jeep before. Thanks for any info provided.

Coll,
I was reading about the Rubicon in 4x4 mag, it sounds like a beauty but I thought it was only in petrol??? I may have misread or they may have misprinted (not that they would ever do that surely hehehehe). The four door to be called the "unlimited" not sure about the reality of that phrase describing the 4 door Jeep?
Sorry but no experience with this product so not much help.
Good luck and keep us posted if YOU get the experience before the rest of us.
Trevor.

U.S doesn't get the diesel.... we do.
I researched these a heap and might look at one late this year. The hardtops leak a bit and will get worse with age, that was the only problem I could uncover. All other reviews seemed hugely positive
The are comparable in space to a grand cherokee and have plenty of room inside for elbows etc, much improved over the old one. Not first hand experience but the result of my research FWIW
Rubicon is great value if you would have spent the $$$ on lockers etc anyway

They are a good looking and also reasonably practical unit...at least compared to the 2 door. Yes they are TD in Aust, its the 2.8CRDi that the Cherokee is currently using.
They are reasonbly nice inside too although there is alot going on in there....not refined like a modern interior, still very boxy and handles, levers and latches everywhere. The roof has quite a few configurations too, from just open hatches to all off like a Jeep should be!
Interesting prospect now the addition room and the TD!
I will be
test driving one when we are ready to move up!
Matt.

You can get a 4 door Wrangler with the diesel motor but not the Rubicon version.

Mark's correct no TD motor for Rubicon talked to a dealer to confirm it, just doesn't make sense, Rhys.
