Evening all...I have a magellan explorist 600 with just the world base map and I need some advice on which mapping software to purchase from GPSOZ.....the choices are great desert tracks or discover aus topo (streets and tracks) or discover australia streets and tracks......what do think?
Also tonight I just installed my engine saver (low coolant alarm) and I tested it and it works a treat.
In regards to mapping software I am about to go from
perth via
great central road to alice and up to GRR then to one arm point and back to
perth in may/june...cheers Phil

Hi Phil
I have the mag xl and the discover aus topo is fantastic (u wont go wrong) view your trips 3d on computer too using mapsend, the discover australia streets and tracks is not as good in my opinion and does not have voice guidence only beeping and a red arrow, which i dont mind,no red light camera, school zones,no auto reroute etc..It failed a couple of streets in my local area and there not new either !
Better off getting a cheap tomtom or other if you want that...

Phil,
I have the Magellan XL with Aus Topo and also Great Desert Tracks. I have Oziexplorer which works quite
well with the XL but I was frustrated that I could not view the Aus Topo maps on my PC for planning purposes. The new version of Mapsend from Magellan has fixed that and I am quite happy with the combination.
cheers
alastair
