Just can't decide which way to go? I've got a 2006 Dual cab 4x4 diesel hilux and I want to fit a long range fuel tank . The choice is between replace existing tank with a long ranger (140lt) or fit a (70lt) auxiliary tank made by opposite lock. Has anyone changed there fuel tank? Any help would be great.

Thanks heaps

Hi Barney
The auxiliary tank fits above the spare wheel and gravity flows into the main tank. Also fills from the same inlet as existing main tank. But will check out ground clearance on long ranger tank

Thanks

Hi Wombat,
I have fitted a "long ranger" Axe tank (80lt). Would I do it the same way again ?
1. It is a pain to fill as it uses the same filler as the main tankl so you can not choose where the fuel goes.
2. Transfer pump is very slow, takes about 30 mins to do the whole 80 lt.
On the plus side, the aux tank fits up very high & has never been a prob with clearance

Hi Wombat
I recently fitted a extra tank to my brothers new Navara, under his tray. If you have a traytop let me know and I will give more details. Best of luck.
