Dear All,
I am looking to replace the left front CV joint on a mates 80 series. Can anyone offer any kind words of advice? I am assuming that the assembly is the same as a Patrol.
Thanks
Angus

My best advice is on how to remove the old fromthe axle...put a piece of pipe in the vice long ways, thread the axle through it and holding the end of the cv in one hand, the axle in the other, whack it...sharply into the pipe...the axle will keep coming when the cv stops presuming you keep tension on the circlip by trying to pull them appart while holding.....i kid u not.....follow gregories advice with a hammer and drift took 6 hours b4 the 7 pouner ripped the spline out of the axle with the circlip behind it...then i find out how easy it could have been.....
Dont buy chinese c/v's or u will be retrieving and changing again....if u have already, keep the old one in the back....and the
tools handy.

Replace the inner axle seal with a genuine seal whilst you have it apart.
It is very similar to the patrol.
You don't have to take the swivel hub off as the joint fits through. Just take brake caliper off, hub, disc rotor, stub and then the cv will come out.
