Hi Guys,
After using my 33" MTRs for last 2 seasons, l decided they wont cut it this winter. So l've got a part worn set of Simex Jungle Trekkers to fit on the 80 series.
As l need to get them mounted to wheels, as l only bought tyres. Now the questions start.

To me the obvious choice of wheel is a steel 6stud 16x8 sunraysia style.
16x8 as the std rim is a 16x8. My JT2's are a 33x11.5-16 currently fitted to 5 stud wheels which are 16x7 (and need to be returned to the seller).

What about rim offset?
I can get new rims in a negative 13mm offset that fit under the guards ok. Or l can get a negative 22mm offset. I'm told l'll need to fit extended flares for those 22mm jobbies. I like the idea of widening the track, but l dont want extended flares. Anybody know how much offset can be had without the flare extensions being required?
I cant try the wheels, as they have to be ordered in. Cheapest wheels l can find in 16x8 are $105 (Dynamic rim) - any better prices in Eltham, Vic area.

Anybody got experience of running these bias ply tyres with anything other than 16x8 and comments about it? The 16x7 look like they are pushing the tread centre section out.

As l bought the JT's for winter, l intend to run at lowered pressure on rocks/mud around the Toolangi, Marysville area etc. My plan is to put tubes in from day one.
If we disregard the cost, what is the benefit of running a 2nd air beadlock rather than running a tube. How easy will the tyre push off the rim at 15psi with a tube?

How difficult is it to change the tyre (in the bush / camp) when 2nd air's are fitted?

I thought the recent '4wd Monthly' dvd showed a guy fitting 2nd air's with tubes. Can they be run with tubes or should they be tubeless?

Sorry for many questions, just don't want to buy wheels twice and explain it to the 'Finance Controller'.

Just bought a tyreplier kit also, not used it yet, but any tips appreciated.

Cheers
BoB
