Not being a fisherman's bootlace, I'll be looking to do some fast fishing to cater for the pescetarian (fish eating vegetarian) proclivities of a couple of my clients -
well I like fish too, so I'll join in.
Where in
Broome,
Derby,
Kununurra (
well anywhere in the Northwest) can one get a reliable supply of fresh fish (not that I need a lot, I just want to rely on being able to get it)?
Thanks for any inputs,
Andrew.

Andrew,
Look for a place where the waves are not breaking....... Ok I know there is no waves there but there will be a little swell.
River mouthes are always a good one.
The big one is look for where birds are feeding on the surface...... where birds are feeding, they are feeding on small fish which means big fish are feeding on small fish chasing them to the surface.
Saw a guy pulling in good size Sea Mullet the other day with the hook in sides. They did not even take the bait.
One thing I do not have to remind you of is the crocs though
enjoy and good luck

we teach 'em to make beautiful images in adventurous
places... but we don't pretend to be a fishing trip.

Ok I missread..... Fish
shop is the quickest obviously. But my cousin has fishing boats out of
Exmouth. When I went out with him every now and then he would give fish to passerbys who asked for them. Maybe try the fishing docks and ask the boats that are unloading......

Hey
young fella
Try the butcher shops in all of the towns you mentioned. They normally have a supply of fish available. If in doubt look up their phone numbers and ring 'em before you leave.
Cheers

Andrew,
At
Broome on the way to
the wharf there is a wholesale/retail fish
shop that sells local fresh fish and prawns. Reasonable prices.
Supermarkets /butcher shops would stock them too.
Derby, the fish
shop next to the
information centre sells barra and chips for a very good price and is good tucker.
Also at
Derby there is a resraurant /fish outlet at entrance to wharf where you can feed the troops. The butcher
shop in town has fish too and perhaps Woolies.
Kununarra being inland I did not check out but one of the
forum members is a local so when he sees your post he can tell you .

Andrew, I BELIEVE that a lot of fish that is sold in
Perth comes from
Lake Argyle, so there must be pro fishermen up there that catch 'em. Also Kununarra (KNA) is close to good barra waters and there are at least 2 fishing tour guides up in KNA. I'd lob up and ask at shops, servos, shire offices etc - somebody will have some around the town.
