Hi folks:
In May I am taking a mate (and his camper trailer) to Fraser Island for a few days fishing. Purpose is to show him the place and also to let him road
test his new camper trailer. Can anyone recommend a good place to
camp with the trailer, as I don't want to lug this thing all over the island. My 80 Series Landcruiser is doing all the hard yakka.
Thanks in advance.

YEP, Dundabara is
the spot for you, or beach camping near the Maheno, depends how close you want to be to the fish and the
toilets.

Agree with Chopper there.
As it is school holidays and the NP camping areas are likely to be full, somewhere on
the beach to the North of the Maheno, that puts you about midway between
Eli Creek (
toilets, water etc.) and the Dundunburra NP
campground (showers etc.).

mate, stay south of
Indian Head. My wife and i went to
Orchid Beach with our trailer for our honeymoon last year and it was The Grouse. We don't want too many people to know though...
he ha he ha.
Seriously, drop me a line and i can give you the oil, and some great pics of my missus with a shovel.

Hi sloth .....
Your secret is safe with me .. I don't think many people visit this
forum .. : )
You know how to live dangerously, offering pics of the missus with a shovel ... however .. I'm in for the "good oil". My email is jeller@bigpond.net.au.
Many thanks

Jack,
Just got back today from 8 days on Fraser Island - amazing!
Waddy point is a good
camp ground and has the cheapest fuel on the island (at $1.25 a litre) but theyre great people there, DONT STAY AT CATHEDRAL BEACH
camp ground whatever you do!. The person who runs it is the most unfriendly, and downright mean and nasty that I have come across.
Dilli Village is also a nice place to
camp and if it was me I would drop there a few nighst and then move up to Waddy. get some fuel and then shoot up around the top to the
Sandy Cape lighthouse for a day, the fishing is great up the top too.
Saw a lot of guys around Yidney rocks fishing too.
Have a great time________________________________>

Hi Bonz:
Thanks for the tip about Cathedral Beach. I know Dili Village
well, and have that as an option. I am towing a mate's (hired) camper trailer for this trip, while he works out if he wants to buy one, so it will be "interesting".
We plan to see pretty much the whole place this trip and will also sneak in a bit of fishing. With me the fish don't have many worries, as I usually just "drown bait", but who knows. Made a note of Yidney Rocks. Hope you left a few for us to catch ;)
Appreciate your
feedback. Cheers.
Jack.
