not sure about the nissan but did fit a d-tronic to a 100 series turbo diesal today.
i was very impressed with the diference heaps more power.
i asked the boss today why this guy bought a d-tronic and he said when he was in a cpl of weeks ago to get a spare wheel carier he borowed the bosses 100 series to drop his boat some where.when he got back he said to the boss geez what have you done to your cruiser it flies.
i fitted a d-tronic he said.
best you get me one of them things the customer said lol.
we put one in a 3ltr navara a cpl of weeks ago and same thing big diference.
so i cant see why the patrol shouldnt gain from one either.
cheers

I cant understand why Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and every other turbo deisel manufacturer do fit these things as standard. More power, more torque, better fuel consumption etc etc.
Am I missing something? Perhaps all the improvements relate to towing and reduced engine life.
Sorry to be controversial!, but I need enlightenment......

The Dtronic simply overrides the standard fuel settings, etc in the ECU. Manufacturers would have to setup the mapping that would be provided by a Dtronic type device into the ECU at manufacture which probably means more cost. All they want to roll out is the bare minimum. Thats why we all ahve to replace the
suspension and tyres to make them more off road capable as
well.
I've had one in my 95 series Prado for 4 years and done over 70,000 km since with a lot of caravan towing. I guess I'll have to wait and see if the engine life is reduced, all seems ok so far.
