Pop into a Jaycar store if nearby and discuss your needs and budget.
The better ones for your laptop are the sinewave versions which are a little more expensive. For your needs (as stated) I would suggest 300Watt would suffice.
Jaycar Cat No. MI-5153 $199. If thats beyond your budget the 300W non-sine wave unit p/n MI-5104 at $80 is a starting point.

Hi Gertie
I fit the Projecta 600W unit to most vans.
It will run a drill as
well as all other charging situations.
I have just finished testing a new unit. Marine grade and will run a fridge. They are in my next container due in 3 weeks time. I will load some pictures in an hour or so.
If you need one straight away then the IN600 from Projecta is perfect. It has twin outlets and I trust the product.
Regards
Derek.

Whilst i recognise that you generally have a good name around here with your business, i am intrigued at how you can "self-promote of products" which is against the
forum guidelines.....is there something that other advertisers/businesses who do not promote their product on the
forum as it breaching these rules, miss in interpreting the rules? (i'm thinking of a recent thread, not old threads)
How is this post (and the other one below) not self-promoting your products?

Advice taken however I post pictures and links to more than just my own site.
I try to advise where I can and threads are not is aimed at self promotion.

Thanks for your calm reply to my post ;-) i wasn't actually advising, rather that i am concerned that some of these posts could be considered no different in their advertising slant than my old mate Bill....god rest his soul (apart from the abrupt nature i remember).

I have a 1500watt I got from Ebay, it is over kill for my power needs but its nice to know I have the power if I need it. I paid $178 posted to my door. Runs my 240v waeco fridge with out a drama. With regards to laptops I have been told the transformer for the laptop converts the modified back to a pure sine wave. So you don't need the expense of a pure. My father has been running his laptop of his inverter without a drama.
Cheers Stefan

Most but not all modified sine wave
inverters will recharge a laptop but if the laptop power supply gets very hot then there is a problem and don't use the inverter on it.

I bought and installed a PSW 600W JayCar Inverter in the LC80 and couldn't be happier. You'll need extra cable as they only supply 1m. Make sure you get thick cable (same as what it comes with), I think it was 4G.

PURE Sinewave 300Watt should be ok (minimum) with the equipment you nominate
Get model with a fan - not heatsink
think closer to $300 - not under $100
Install close to battery in open area to dissipate heat & avoid voltage loss.
Check out the technical specifications.
50/60Hz: (+/-) 0.3%
Efficiency: 89% plus
Input voltage range: 10.5v - 15v
What protection is included: Overload, Short circuit, Reverse polarity, Over/Under voltage, Over temperature.
Meet or exceed the above specs.
mainey...
