My Toyota 2005 Hilux SR5 has leaned 4-5 centimeters to the left since new, scrubbing tyres front & back.Dealer has swapped springs & struts, but nothing has made any difference. Has anyone else had this problem & how to fix it ?

one other thing is that the setup on the right may be the problem and not the left. if the right is out, it can have an adverse affect on the left hand side.

Hi Mate
My 2006 SR5 has the same problem. 2cm lower on the left hand side. I have had ome suspension fitted and that didn't fix the problem either. I'm hoping someone out there has the answer as well.

Do you know a panel beater? They would be able to figure it out straight away I reckon.

Hi All
Most commercial type vehicles are set up some 2-5cm higher on the right, not 2-5cm lower on the left.
This is allegedly to account for the weight of the operator who is usually the only occupant.
Sounds strange, but also logical if you think about it.

Leaning should not affect tyre wear too much unless wheel alignment is out to bugry.

Only other thing I can think of is shoddy repair job (if vehicle has been pranged).

Good luck with it.

Hey Disco
That sounds great in theory. But wouldn't the brain surgeons at Toyota Know that rather than replace his springs & shocks?

dealer reckons wheel alignement is spot on....?? ! No prangs. Drove the car out of showroom & haven't even hit a pot hole! It was leaning from day one. Seems to me likeit could be an error in manufacture, but I hope it's not.

Easy fix is a 40mm lift on one side

Have to say I probably wouldnt have taken possession of it if it was "leaning like that from day one"?

I have noticed the same with mine but put it down to having an extra leaf fitted and re set but my diff sits to the right by 5mm and only noticed it on putting wider wheels on
