Hi all
Anyone been to Huggetts Crossing in the Avon Wilderness Park with a camper trailer? Appreciate any
feedback on access. Is this section open yet?
regards
Mike

Mike,
Huggetts is now open. You won't have any problem getting a camper in there. Most of the tracks around the area that have been opened have been dozed and graded - the tracks are all in great condition. We've just had a bit of rain over the last 36hrs so the dust is down too.

Gday Tim
Thanks for that info, I must get Wes and George and Julie up there again. I want to do a trip before the trip to SA in July.

As far as I know Huggetts Crossing isn't in the Avon Wilderness Park, the park starts some distance away along the Mount Angus Track.
It used to be a very good
camping area, but has been badly affected by the 'bogan element' since the track upgrade made it more accessible.
Even the Parks Victoria bush log tables & seats have been cut up & burnt as firewood.

Thanks Shaker. Any suggestions on good quiet spots on the river that are accessible with camper, away from the 'bogans'?
Cheers
Mike

Ha ha .... no I think the one I saw was white.
Neetas, it is still quite a good spot, if you drive about 700m along the rocks with the river on your right, you will come to another rocky
river crossing, if you cross there you will come to quite a steep little pinch with good camping above.
If you need to be near the long drop you will need to stay on the other side.
Good luck!
