Hey Dustin, have you been to the showroom and had the run down?
Very impressive camper for that sort of thing.

I don't have one, I have a Jayco camper, this is my third Jayco, but I was very keen about the features of the Adventure.

Plusses..........
* Great storage which is so easily accessible....one side can have the "clean" stuff (food, kitchen equipment, clothing etc:) and the other side can have the "not so clean" stuff (chairs, porta potti, generator, tools etc:)

* MASSIVE BED
* Great kitchen which is ready for a roadside cook up in seconds.
* Solar and battery setup is well thought out and was obviously taken into consideration during the design stage.

Minusses.........
* Your still cooking outside.
* Fridge or fridges are on the drawbar.
* If you spill any liquid in the kitchen it leaks into the storage underneath (I think).

Cheers,

MUZZ

I would consider cooking outside, undercover, to be a big plus, the idea of filling a tent/camper with cooking fumes, steam & splattered fat is not all that appealing, ....... but that's just me!

I have inspected the Adventure trailers several times & they appear to be a very well thought out & quality product, I have on 2 reservations though, firstly they appear to oversprung with a 9 leaf spring pack & secondly, I would like to see one erected from scratch, they look as if they might be a bit fiddly, but it may well be easy once you know how.

Yes you're right Willie, but having a Jayco we can get up in the morning, put the kettle on, have some brekky and stay in our pijamas (undies or whatever) and not have to leave the camper.

Same if the mozzies are really bad in the evening, we can prepare the food before going outside to use the gas cooker on the table.

As for fat splatter............ we don't cook anything that requires oil for cooking.

We can do all that too ..... because we don't camp in the vicinity of others!

Just to join in, we got the annexe that surround the kitchen area in the secondhand deal, you can close all the windows and do whatever in your undies!! Plus is another area to sleep if need be!! Pretty happy with the set up, just takes us a while at the moment as we have only done it once since having it home, to give in a clean!! I am sure it will get quicker!
before this we had a jayco pop top off road camper.... actually still have, we will sell after our business busy season is over!! We modified it so there is a slide out kitchen on the outside, great access on the road side stops! Also extended one of the beds and made storage where the kitchen was inside the camper, with a single bed on the storage for both kids (don't sleep together well hehehe) Dustin also made a great box on the front to put even more stuff inside!! Camp chairs, extra kitchen bench and the other side has the geny and cords etc..
We like the kitchen outside idea, mainly as we camp with a heap of friends and it becomes really social!!
Enjoying this group!!! Thanks heaps

Hi Dustin,

While I recently bought a Camprite, I nearly bought the Adventure camper. I really liked the kitchen and storage on the Adventure (better than the Camprite), but the downside IMHO is the "soft floor", you need a flat area to set it up unlike the Camprite which is completely off the ground. Also, all your stored gear is outside of the "tent" in the "trailer", unlike the Camprite which is "inside" already.

I have 2 kids so the setup of 2 singles plus a double is what swayed me - but I could EASILY live with an Adventure, both are around the same price and similair high quality build.

Cheers

HI Thanks for all of your input, we have an adventure camper we have recently bought secondhand, it is a 2006 model only used a few times. It is the daintree model with a sink and box at the front. Wondering if there are any adventure camper owners out there that have any tips on the best way to set up the camper, any modifications that can be put on or changed to make it even better than it is! or camper trailer tips that make trailers easier to use. We are really excited about having the trailer to spend our holidays in, we plan to go to a family owned station near Telfer in WA and another one near Port Hedland in October for 3 or so weeks, we won't get to many times to try it out before we go, so any help or tips or must haves that you recommend.... all thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks again for those who have already answered out help call!!
Would appreciate any help!
Kindest Regards

If you get on the WEB site you can order the video which shows some trips and the how to set up by the owners.

Or just ring the office I sure Paul Tabone will help you out.

We have friends with adventure camper. They modified the water tank taps after them being removed during rought road travelling. They also made mods to the mattress to allow easier packing up-rather than the sitting on the folded over bit. the kitchen benchtop is about to be cut into 3 sections for easier access to storage areas.
I will see if i can find what else they have done. They are happy with it all the same after 3 months on the road, although it does take a bit of packing up for overnight stops. Works well off road too.

It certainly will get quicker putting it up once you've done it a couple of times. I remember when we first got ours reading the step by step instructions out on the front lawn.

In the whole year we never found any issues with having a soft floor at all. Perhaps the adventure got the drop correct so that you're never really left with it being a bit too short to reach the ground when it's not level.

Just watch the holes around the bed (between bed case & canvas, potential to get bugs or ants in, plug them up with your bed sheets etc.
