In view of post 44724 by Russ n Sue...here is a timely reminder all who want to venture out there.
Do your research and then do it again, before venturing into the unknown.
As taken from my website:
"Near
Well 24 we meet the 'Circus'. Two single Toyotas cross a dune. They then stop on the dune and hook up in tandem to a third Toyota with a boat on the roof rack. This last vehicle is towing trailer 4 metres in length and at least 2.5 metres in height. In it they have two welders, two generators, large freezer, lounge, TV, food etc and a microwave. They are on their way to
Cairns and thought that it would be a good idea to take a short-cut along the CSR! We wait for them to cross the dune. I tell them that the road ahead is fraught with danger and they are foolish to try and attempt such a crossing with the gear that they have. They become aggressive and I back off to the confines of our vehicle."
Some mothers do have 'em....:-D
Cheers

Onya Willem....
you do a good job of boosting my self confidence and belief that the CSR is possible with a CT in tow, and then you burst my bubble by posting this!
If I thought I was confused before.....lol...
Cheers,
Russ.

Nah that was an extreme case of stupidity. You'll be right.
BTW if going on off road adventures make sure you have the same size
wheels and tyres on you trailer as the Landy.

Ah! This was some years ago. 1994 to be precise.
I heard the some time later that they had exited at
Well 33 back to
Marble Bar and GNHwy. If they had turned right at
Well 33 they could have made it to Alice without too much hassle.

Russ n Sue you may want to check this out, taken from the WA Trip Reports on AULRO
CSR REPORT
I think Richard hasn't had the
suspension fault upgrade, could be why he had to reset it alot.

Thanks Baz. I read it with interest. It is one of many I have read where the
suspension dropped to Access Height, but I haven't read a story yet where they weren't able to get going again.
It is no different to the HJ79 ute we had on loan last year on the Telfer Pipeline. Used to run so hot that you couldn't turn the aircon on. So you either went without or you stopped and let the car cool down. Either way, it wasn't a disaster, it was just a nuisance.
I can live with nuisances.
I went on and viewed some of RichardK's photos. The one dune shot I saw wasn't too bad, but I suspect this my have been one of the more easy ones down at the
Wiluna end because it doesn't look like the dunes I experienced out near Telfer.
Cheers,
Russ.
