Well thats what Ive been told, not that I'm anybody.
Apparently Santos, Telstra and the workers want it. I guess this means bugger all except that you might be able to make a call from the area I think.

It could mean that all those that went up there to get away from it all - ain't so far away from it all - after all.

Yes it probably means that you will be able to catch up from your mobile as you are going by, better than the phone box at Inamincka.
Hi Dean, hows things, long time no see?

Cheers Pesty

Gday Pesty,
Things are going well, off to Innimincka July 7 for the first time, other than that loads off weekend trips around the place. Nearly time for another SA gathering.

I can nearly guarentee that Telstra won't be paying a cent towards it, but guess who gets the credit.

Outside Woomera there were signs saying "you are in mobilenet country" it's Telstras way of saying look what we have done for you travellers.....arn't we good.

When I was working up there I asked one of the Woomera bosses about it and he said "It cost the Fed Govt out of the defence budget $2.5m and it cost Telstra $00000.

Those guy at Telstra what a great job they do.

regards Richard

Woomera is a Defence town. That's all that's there. Apart from a few passing travellers Defence is the only user of the network, so why should Telstra give it to them for free?
