I want to thank all who helped sort out some battery issuies I had in my caddy.

With my new knowledge , I am going to change the way I use my batteries in the cruiser also.

The main issue was that there was a bad contact between the bolt on the rear and the diode plate , also the battery was only storeing 50 amps on full charge . I was made to understand that 700 cca is the cranking amps only and the 170 a is the storage amps lol. And to think I have been a motor mechanic for 20 years lol.

I have changes the battery to a bosh 170 starage amps and also upgraded the alternator to a bosh 110 amp from repco. After fitting it all up , I noticed that I was getting 14.45 V at the back of the alernator and 14.20V at the battery . So I also upgraded the alternator charge wire to a battery cable to minimise voltage drop. I now get 14.44V at the battery and only drops to 14.41 with all accesories on.

you got to be happy with that .
