I have been given/bought a water to air intercooler with a 10in barrel to fit with a Safari aftermarket turbo. The main question is where does the small radiator fit? I believe that it sits near the main radiator or in between the grill, but without removing anything I can't see how it will fit.
Does anyone have this conversion on a 75series so I can get some idea on how to set it up?
Thanks Terry

Anywhere up front will do...but be aware it needs to be somewhere of comparable height or the system wont be able to be bled of air...

Terry,
I think I might be able to help a fellow Troopie owner.
Send the inter cooler down to me, I will work how it fits, make all the brackets and modifications and send it back to you.
It will take a long time to fit so if you could wait a few weeks, months, maybe years it would be appreciated. :))

Thanks for the offer Wayne, however I would think it would be unfair for you to have to handle the costs of transport and materials and use up your valuable time just to see if the intercooler fits and works properley.

Thanks for that, you are spot on. I had previously looked on their website but obviously had a male look (as the wife keeps telling me).

Wayne,
If you have a second battery you will find it very difficult to fit front mount I/Cooler at all, in a Patrol GU. I had to make custom pipes and left plenty of knuckle bark on all sorts of parts in my Patrol, doing just this. Hope this helps hehehe.
Trevor.

Hey Terry,
I can take some pics of my set up and e-mail them to you if you want. I know
mine is a different model but mounting should be pretty similar. Intercooler 'radiator' sits in front of factory radiator, top right hand side while looking at vehicle. It has a couple of plate steel mounting brackets (top and bottom to keep it tight). Kit I got had a fan as
well, which sits in front of intercooler 'radiator', there is still space between all this and the grill on the 100 series, may be a bit less with yours? The pump for the system sits in the space under the headlight (on the right as
well) so that everything is nice and close.
Only other thing I can think to mention is height of the intercooler radiator doesn't matter, The barrel cooler should sit above the motor between turbo outlet and the inlet manifold, the safari kit previously had a short length of pipe over the rocker cover, which you basically swap for the barrel cooler and adaptor bracket to the intake manifold. The whole water system is filled from a separate inlet pipe/cap assembly, this part has to be the highest part of the set up to allow it to be bled properly,
mine sits just off/under the bonnet at the back of the engine bay.
Ross.

Hi Rossco,
I have found some printed information from Denco Diesels for fitting the intercooler, however if you have the time( they say a picture is worth a thousand words) any photos would be more than appreciated.By the way did you have to set back the original radiator.? as I have to do for the 75series.
Thankyou for your help. Terry
