I put a couple of guys on Dean Jacksons Yellow Water fishing charters, last Saturday.

As it happened I had my mates Quintrex and a day off myself, we caught up with these guys about 10ish and they had already got 16, we landed 5 but no keepers.

If you do come up here and fish remember the legal limit 55cm or over, If you get one over 85 cm throw it back there good breeders.

Happy fishing Steve.

Don't you hate it when some bugger gets on here bragging about all the fun they are having on the other end of this country while otheres are working. While I'm sitting here in my office dreaming about catching a nice Barra to put on the grill you show up telling us all about it:-).........you lucky bugger.

If I could be on a plane within the hour I would be there with bells on. Post a pic if you can.

i am heading for the roper on friday, couple of mates went today to meet people from adelaide, will have pics.. not sure if they will make you feel better.it is still quite warm here, 36, at the moment, so the water is still warm, and has got to the green water stage, so its on. we will camp at st. vidgeons boat ramp so anybody who is around come and say gidday. someones got to catch them, might as well be me.
the 60s new motor is run in and ready to go, put a new seal in the transfer case output shaft, new pinion seal, and serviced the wheel bearings.
dont worry , while we are filleting the days catch and having a beer and bull session i will be thinking of you.... NOT!

I don't feel sorry for you at all. I had the sense to move from SA to the Top End. Unfortunately I still have to work.

Tjilpi,
you have me curious. Are you a Senior person??? Wati???. Is this a sign of your heritage?? A person that understands the certral desert region language?? or have you adopted the name Tjilpi from elsewhere???

I will answer your questions in order.

I am a senior person.

Wati - No I have never been initiated.

My step-grandfather was indigenous. My wife is indigenous. I am not.

I have a knowlege of the western desert language. I do not know enough to speak it fluently but I could understand it.

I worked for the SA Govt for 38 years and had a lot to do with western desert people who called me Tjilpi and also Kununara.

Tjilpi,
I figured there must have been a connection there somewhere.

what about late July, early August?

Also, got any hints for a novice? Licence needed in NT? I think I read WA needs one.

Cheers, Nige
