Just picked up our 2007 Nissan Patrol on Friday. Looks like being " the goods ". Did a quick run down the Stuart Highway to Adelaide River and noticed when we got home quite a bit of dust on the rear doors and spare. It is a sealed road so it supprised me. The vehicle is white so I guess it will stand out.

As we are doing the CSR in July I have thought about a dust deflector on the rear. Any one with practical experience of these and do they work ?

Mate,

I have had them on both my Patrols and they do work but don't totally stop it......They will reduce it by a fair margin though a roof rack can affect how good they work......

I have one on my Pajero. Definately worth it. They do not totally stop the dust but heaps less.

I forgot to mention that I do not have a roof rack yet, on the way and should be fitted later in the week. I gather from comments so far that this will have a bearing on the effectiveness of the dust deflector.

Towing also affects it operation.....Due to the dust off the trailer....Other benefit is when it is raining it helps with water coming in the rear of vehicle, a little anyway.....

I washed my GU 4 on the weekend don't you just hate the painted flares stone chips and small scratches show up majorly and i would love my old rear step from my 2002 gu the painted one is a pain and the stone chips show up, compared to the series 3 model i don't think they are as tough.

I saw two identical patrols at Coongie lakes the other year (brothers kitted up the cars exactly the same). The only difference was one had a dust deflector. Both had exactly the same amount of dust on the back windows (I remember pointing it out to my wife when they stopped near our tent).

IMHO it works well and SWMBO thinks it worth the money.

I am about to take delivery of a 2007 Patrol as well. I just noticed on the Nissan website that Free Satellite Navigation and Reversing Cameras are being offered on ST Wagons. I think this offer has only just been added to the website as I didn't notice it before. As a matter of interest did you receive this as part of the package. The dealer hasn't mentioned anything to me about this yet.
