Hi everyone,

We have had some feedback about member profile privacy, subsequently I have just made a modification to the My Home - My Profile page and added a drop down list to allow you to specify which site users may be able to view your rig/profile page.

You have four choices:
- Visible to All Site Users
- Visible to Registered Visitors, Members & Customers
- Visible to Members and Customers
- Hidden from All

These should be self explanatory the default is Visible to All Site Users. e.g. If you only want financial members to be able to open your profile then set Visible to Members and Customers.

NOTE: This mod will not stop the system putting the link in your posts etc it will just stop (if set) the various people from being able to access the page - they will be re-directed.

Hi Dave.

Thanks, I appreciate the opportunity to choose the members profile accessibility.
I have tried to alter my profile then press update. Then tried to review and the profile still read "accessible to all". Closed Internet Explorer and then changed again and updated. Still no success.

I logged off as a member and then on again and still the same result.

I know it me doing something wrong - but what?

Cheers
Pete

Same problem here. Won't hold the new setting.

Hum tested it a few more times and it seems to work for me. Let me have another look and see what gives.

Hey just had a thought - are you hitting the Update button once you change it?

I've tried to do it a few times, each time I hit the "UPDATE" button. It lloks like it's worked, until you log and then log back in.....at which time it shows "ALL USERS" again.....

Cant speak for the others, but yes, I hit the update button about 3 times, refreshed the screen, asked another forumite to look at a known post by myself and on each occassion he said he was able to see my profile dispite my setting it to Hide All. Each time I went back to my profile the setting was on Show All.

Opps - it works now - left out an important line that told the system to update the database. It should be fine now - sorry guys & gals.

Can i be the first to ask why???? I mean if you don't want people to see something don't put it on your profile. Isn't it that simple????
