Hi All,

Just a line to say the North Kimberley is drying out faster than may have been expected.
This is NOT an official word but I hear that the plan is to open the GR road by about end of this week or weekend of 5th / 6th. The Durack River being the deepest is about 800 and falling.
The Kalumburu Road looks set to be open not far behind with a day in next week possibly even early next week 7 th to 9 th May.
The Mitchell Plateau track may also be open by about the same time, some inspections & some repairs have been done and a ute has now crossed the King Edward River ok.

cheers, Anne
PS If I don't reply to any follow ups it's because I will have no net access once again.
Will be back to normal next month.

Just a quick note of caution for GRRoaders travelling around the 1st of June give or take a day or so (from memory here), as there is a pushbike relay from west to east around that time that may be a bit of an inconvenience to some, a bit of an amusment to some (in the air con sipping a coldie!), a bit of fun for some participating, and a bit of a safety issue if travellers are in a bit of a jurry.

Cheers Andrew

Thanks Ann,

I'll be there for a cold one towards the end of June. Cheers. Mick

I'll be on the bike competing in the bike race.

It's all in the aid of charity we'll be raising money for Princess Margaret Hospital (Perth Childrens Hospital).

If your passing by a wave a toot a cold can or a small donation wouldn't go astray.

Regards
