Hi the fridge thing again!!!

Has anyone had any experience with the new waeco CF80/110?

Just wondering how the three compartment thing goes?

Is it worthwhile or just a gimik?

Cheers

I've got a 110

to be honest i just use it as a big fridge. I have been very happy with the power consumption and especially like the fact that there are four fan settings.

I turn it on a high setting when i'm driving and then set it to economy for overnight.

I do intend to try the freezer idea one day, to date i have only tested as a freezer in the garage

If i take out the divider and run it flat out from 240v empty, the middle of the larger compartment gets down to -18c.

I'm happy with it, and for the price you get a hell of a big fridge.

Hi the cf 80 & 110 frides have 3 compartments 1 a freezer 1 fridge and a shelf area for dairy and so on, the devider between the freezer and the fridge is removable but it will not turn it into a full freezer, the reason why is if you look closer at the evaperator plate which is the white panel lining inside the fridge their is only vanes in the freezer area none in the fridge compartment which means the fridge is cooled by the overflow from the freezer,if you you want a real fridge freezer combo look for units that have two thermostats that control both areas.

Just got back from a trip over easter. and I have found the only solution.
I have a 70 lt waeco great! but like always, when in and out all day it gets warm and need to run contantly. Bugger the expense!!!!.
Buy a 7o lt 1/2 for veg and friut and
1/2 for the special brown liquid and something wet for the ball and chain.
Then get a 40 lt freezer only or a fridge that will freeze.
when on long trips it will save the cost in bulk meat savings alone.you have got no idea how much a few lamb chops (Frozen) will cost at innaminka or tibbaburra.

The Waeco fridge has just been delivered and I have not had a chance yet to check out yet what Karyn described as cosmetic damage...there does not appear to be very much wrong at all...so for a saving of over $300...it will do me...cheers
