Afternoon all,
As of yesterday afternoon I'm on hols for a glorious month. Now what to do -
well thought I'd wander over to
Adelaide to collect the CT (Trak Shak) that I paid a deposit on August last year. Leaving
Tamworth tomorrow - Sunday - collecting a mate and driving to
Cobar. Then to
Broken Hill to collect a custom roof rack for the mighty GU. A quick look at
Silverton is planned for Monday pm. Then on to
Adelaide on Tuesday. Collect the CT and have booked a few nights at Levi C/van park to use the CT to make sure it all works. Then a 3 drive wander back
home by the following Sunday.
We plan on having a look at the Barossa Valley and Victor Harbour areas while over there. Any other ideas greatly appreciated.
So if anyone sees an 05 white GU with 2 white antennas - yes they are connected to something hahaha (CDMA hands free and UHF) and a Exploroz sticker on the back LHS door, give us a wave. The CT will have one of the looooong www.exploroz stickers on the back end asap.
Cheers (and be safe out there)

G'day Sarge,
Just wish I had more time over there. My mate has to be
home next Sunday nite for work the next day. I did suggest a plane ride but that costs heaps from
Adelaide to
Tamworth. thanks for the tips
Cheers

places to see and at least for now you can still be on your own.

If you get the chance, consider the
Clare Valley. Lots of Winerys and some pretty good eating
places as
well. You can access it from the
Gawler By-Pass instead of heading to the Barossa. On the way, consider a slight detour, turn-off (right) at Leasingham and have a look at
Mintaro. Quaint old town, lots of preserved history.
Martindale Hall (just out of
Mintaro) is also worth a look at. Great old building with heaps of history. (If you haven't got the time to see
Clare, you can head directly from
Mintaro (dirt road) to
farrell Flat then on to
Burra.) To get to
Clare from
Mintaro take the bitumen road toward
Sevenhill then into
Clare. From
Clare you can head across to
Burra to get back toward B/
Hill. All very pretty farming and wine country particularly after recent rain.
Good luck and enjoy.

G'day DIO
Thanks for all that great info mate. Will try to fit it all in. Thankfully that part of SA is all close to
Adelaide.
Cheers

John, I think the Levi caravan park you talk of is the one in Hackney just over the border of the CBD. Be careful, have a good look at available sites first as I went for a ride through there the other day (I'm a tredly copper!) and the sites seemed so small I wondered if my 11ft Sar Major trailer would fit with no awning up, let alone a TS. In any case, do yourself a favour and go stay at Pt Elliot Caravan Park and use it as a base to see the rest of the nearby peninsula, or Barossa Valley for winetasting, or
Yorke Peninsula, or the South East (
Beachport is the best little coastal town in SA!)
Have a great time!
D-Jack
