Hi all, can anybody tell me the cost of diesel at
Yulara at the present time? Travelling from
Laverton to
Alice Springs we will be just short of making it on our tanks. Reading previous posts I gather things are pretty expensive there. Would it be cheaper at Warakurna?
Cheers

alice springs price at
shell is $1.36 a litre, so i guess
yulara would be getting close to $2.00.

Thanks hiab, we thought that it would be up around that mark, even better if Davoe is correct.

Hi Bonz, not too worried about 10c/l more it is the multiples of 10 that could be of concern, we won't need too much anyway, we are only going to be a couple of hundred klms short.

Hello Dunworkin from The Watto's. Are you the Dunworkin from Molloy. If so, we are The Watto's you know and we are at Alice just now. Kim and Karen from the newsagents are at
Yulara at the moment, now tonight. May hear from them later this evening, if so I'll give you a call and leave a message for you.
Keep safe and be happy,
The Watto's and The Boys.

Hi Watto's, thanks for your reply.
No we are not the Dunworkin from Molloy, are we talking of Molloy Island in WA? as we do have friends down there, lovely spot. if you are from Molloy there must be a dent in the
population from there with yourselves and the people from the newsagent all of you off on holidays, plus our friends have gone O/S.
Enjoy your trip and hope Kim and Karen do as
well.
Cheers

On Wednesday 2 May unleaded (Opal) was $1.584 per litre at the only station at
Yulara. With the 1% surcharge every outlet in
Yulara now imposes on credit card transactions, that amounts to $1.60 per litre, the same price unleaded was at
Erldunda a few days prior. Sorry, I did not notice the diesel price.

Thanks for that, the diesel won't be much more, that is quite reasonable for out there, we expected to pay more than that.

That's great, thanks DIO we were looking for one of those sites, we thought that there would have to be one for NT similar to our 'fuel watch' over here.

Try this site, Its has a fantastic amount of fuel price date right across Australia including trends and averages.
Really useful for gauging the fuel trends when planning a trip.

Thanks
John, we had found that site but we were looking specifically for the GCR, we are going to be a couple hundred Ks short with the fuel that we will be carrying, wondered if it would be better to fill up on the WA side or go through to
Yulara.
Cheers

I would think that it won't matter that much as fuel cost of the trip overall will pale the difference between the WA side and
Yulara into insignificance.
Me I tend to like full tanks pretty constantly as you my find that somewhere you banked on having fuel for some reason suddenly has none.
Either which way driving is better than walking :-)

Yes I was talking about the Island. I live near it but not on it. On the road to the Island. I sold real estate there for 17 years. I may
well have sold to your friends, depending on who they are.
Yes it is like a road train out once May comes until about October.

Our friends have been on Molloy for a few years, we met them on a tag-along of the CSR in 2005 and we have kept in touch since then.
We spent a long weekend with them down there and fell in love with the place, nice and secluded, would love to move in ourselves except the family in
Perth would not be impressed and the penalty would be not seeing the grandies so often.
Your welcome to email us for further discussion.
Cheers
