I am only familiar with a Garmin Etrex and was wondering if the navigators have the ability to store way points, input coordinates and perform other functions comparable to the Etrex (store a route, track back, etc.)
Does the mapping extend to the bush? Would they be any good for off-road navigation or are they a dedicated suburban street pilot navigation system.
Regards

So can I ask, which, if any of the "cheaper" sat. navigation does allow for off-road or out back maps to be down loaded and used?
I see Choice magazine fancies a Mio as the best sat. nav. system withh Tom tom not far behind. Think they only tested 5 or 6. They didn't answer the question I want answered tho'.
I'm not after a bluetooth or internet connection to a lap top or anything like that. (Don't own a lap top anyway..)
The simpler the better.

I reckon wait a while. I suspect you'll see significant advances and price reductions in all things GPS over the next 2 years or so especially given the present high yields (thus cheap price) on Flash memory.
