Can anyone tell me what
tag along tours are like?
I have heard of one from
Perth to
Broome via the
canning stock route.
This would take me through some of my old stomping ground then I would drive the coast back to
Perth. My partner and I want to do a reasonable outback sort of trip but none of our friends have 4x4's

go by yourselves, you will love it.if your vehicle is
well prepared it will be ok. and you wont have to be with a mob . i personally dont like the tag a long idea and prefer to go solo or a couple of mates. but you might like the idea of travelling with god knows who?

Damo.N,
Went on a tagalong across the Simpson couple of years back. Eleven cars including the guide and we did'nt know a soul there. Had a fantastic time. Luck of the draw regarding personalities etc on one of these tours but even best friends can fall out at times.
Although tagalongs can be expensive, if your friends are'nt into 4wd then it's tagalongs, go solo or join a 4wd club and go from there.

We did the CSR with a tag-along from
Perth, was a small group (6 cars), had a great time and have kept in touch with all but 1, (he came from the Eastern States) we are planning another trip later this year with some of the group.
As mentioned above though, as far as personalities is concerned it is the luck of the draw, we were extremely lucky and our guides new the CSR like the back their hands.
We would recommend the tag-along if you don't have anyone else to go with.
Cheers
D

Damo,
The trip that you have heard about is run by
John and Sue. They run tag along tour out of
Broome.
I have met them twice now on the CSR and have had a small friendly group.
John knows the area very
well and is very helpful.
People who join a tag along tour are not that bad. Yes they are strangers to you when you first meet, but they are very much like minded. I have seen some good friendships develop from the trips.
The only thing that I would say is different to there trip that
John does and the one that I do is
John leaves the CSR half way through at
Well 23 and goes to
Broome via 80 mile Beach.
