Is anyone else planning to do the
Bourke Outback Trek to
Karumba this year?

Looks good but I'll be doing the photography for the 2007
Simpson Desert Cycle Challenge at that time.
There's still seats available for those interested in extreme sports photography and the great
Simpson Desert landscapes and helps a good cause. Here's what it looked like a href="

There is also usually a call for support vehicles for the cyclists for those interested.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Richard
I haven't decided yet. Have you been on BOT before?
Seen most of the trip exc nth of Chtr Tow/Mt Isa. I was thinking of going via
Carnarvon G to have another night/day looking around their as the previous trip was really wet for a restday.
Karumba is a fair way to go for 2 days so i would extend this I think.
Regards
Andy

Andy,
I did most of the 1997 BOT in a
Tarago. The Plenty killed it and I had to nurse it into the Alice and bail out :(
Did all of 2001 and 2004 in a Pajero :)
I'm doing the west in June/July and thought I'd grab this opportunity to do some of the Gulf in Oct.
Regards Richard

Yep. However it was a blue Paj in 04 to
Katherine with Triple Diamond across the windscreen. :) I agree they are only short stops but are good for doing a reccy for later trips.
