Hi all,

I know the tent thing has been done to death but..........

Im looking at buying an Oztrail Chalet 6 or a commune combo.

I definatly need a dome with a screen room. Has anyone got any comments as to which of these tents is the better?

Unfortunatly the local camping stores are reluctant to demo them for me.

As long as the screen room can be enclosed if it rains I think either of them would be okay.

I do like the idea of the Commune tent though because you can add to it if required or only take what you need depending on what type of camping you are doing/how long you are going etc....

I missed this one in my first post.

The commune combo does not seem to have full weather coverage over the screen room. Does it?

Its not a huge deal in the dry up here, but we do camp on the eucumbene and tassie once a year, so its nice to know your covered if it does rain (or snow for that matter).

It's just not the rain but also the wind that can affect a screen type tent. We've camped in Warrnambool with a canvas cabin tent and a screen "kitchen" tent. If it wasn't raining and everything got wet then it was windy and everything got pushed over!

I bought the oztrail Villa which is the T shape dome tent.
Has front screened room, through to main room, then a bedroom either on side.
And we love it.has heaps of room.

If their not prepared too Demo, Just tell them you will look eleswhere.
