Hi All
Just wondering if anyone can tell us whether it is possible to tow campertrailers into palm valley(NT) , have heard that some of the corners are too sharp and rocks to large.
cheers Mark

Gday,
Yeh, no worries.
Obviously its a 4wd track so you want a resonable trailer.
Cheers

People tow larger poptops in there Mark, No problems just make sure you have a stone deflector, last time I was there, there was a lot of loose stones coming off the back tyres.

As all have said, no problem, but no one seems to have mentioned that you shouldn't try to take it beyond the camping ground. Leave it there and do the last bit without it.

the road varies, as have heard people taking HQ Holdens in there, when was last there we had a rodeo dual cab that was raised a bit from standard and we had to pick a careful track and still had the side steps scrape several times, if we had a lower vehicle it would have sustained damage, but saying this we passed a rav4 but there were some large grooves in the rock ledges that were obviously caused by these vehicles(they may have been hired!!!), we have a kk that we tow with a Nissan wagon and i would not hesitate to tow it in.

Thanks for Replying We were told about the rocks and thought we better find out how bad it would be. We have a mitsubishi challenger and are travelling with others one in a ford courier and one in a defender extreme, all travelling with 4wd camper trailers. Hopefully we will all get through unscathed.

It's all a bit disappointing now... picnic shelters, tour buses, trailers.. just seems like a suburban park. Still.... have fun. Look for the stick rat nests... the rats are now extinct.

Yes Royce it is isn't it.... I remember going there early 80's and it was an adventure. I went there last time and had no trouble didn't need 4 wheel drive except for a small bit. We passed a grader working on the road.....

your trailer will need a treg hitch or similar dont use the standard coupling as it doesnt have enough articulation

The road to the PV campsite is fine. it is the last 4k to the actual valley which is is rough
- What you do is get there in the morning and stake your claim at the campsite by leaving your camper there (It is a fairly small and crowded in the evenings campsite) then you can cruise the area to your hearts content knowing you have a site for the night
