I have been reading through old threads and saw one that mentioned the lift kit by Macquarie 4x4. I had read this article not too long ago from the web, and was interested in knowing what people thought of it. A thread from October 06 had a couple of replies, has anyone else done it since ???
I also want to know what the difference is between theirs (mac 4x4) and others ie $2800 vs say $1400. Is the bigger price tag worth it ???
I have read some people just replacing the shocks and coils, where others are are also doing the torsion bars, panhard etc.
I don't want to compromise the handling, but at the same time i don't want to go over the top. What's what ?????
Cheers

Mate I think that most of the kits thay sell are 4 inches plus and require the extra work to rods etc as well, hence the price.

tour boy,
thanks for that. The lift that Mac 4x4 do ...or the write up, was only for 2". They raised the front end more than the rear to level the car out, and perhaps this extra front lift was where the additonal bars were required.

I may have to make some calls.....

what did you do to your truck ??? and where ???

Hi mate,
as pictured mine has a 2' OME kit but I've never liked the ride of OME so it now has a 3' Kings articulation kit. I still have the OME shocks and I'm not changing them until we get back from up north in Oct as I don't see the point in stuffing a new set up there.
I always do my own suspension work.
Any bigger than 2-3 inch will require a caster adjustment (bushes or rods if bigger than 4')

Taps,

Check out post 45181 - It deals with the IFS suspension mod and mild lift - works very well and IMHO improves handling. I got mine done at ATS4x4 (Darren McRae) - It is the original setup designed by him/ATS.

I'm pretty sure this is what Maquarie 4x4 now use.
