I have a similar device from Belkin and it works
well in the outback but not very good in the cities with all the FM frquencies.
Hope this will assist you.

You can get one on ebay which looks identical to the jaycar unit but has more than twice the frequencies it does at about a third the cost. We've had one for about 18 months and yes it can be a pain in builtup areas but works a treat out in the bush. We can store 3 weeks worth of music on one usb drive, doesn't jump on rough roads and dust doesn't worry it either.
From memory ours came from the US, brand is VR3, can't remember the vendor id.

Yep I have one
Works a treat. Have three USB sticks with a variety of noise on them...lol Works
well in the bush but could have interference in the city. It has 7 Channels to choose from
Cheers

Zapper,
Have got one, don't know what brand. 6 FM channels. No problems with interference so far. Cost 38 oxfords if i remember right. Tried it with two USB memory sticks and with two MP3 players via the cord to see if still working before trip on Thursday. Works fine on both mediums. Music won't work on
mine unless in MP3 format.
Cheers,
Bros.

Zapper,
Yeah, exactly the same as the one in the Jaycar link and bottom left of page 258 in their dogalog.
Cheers,
Bros.
